Stuff For Sale

NOTE: Not one, but two CD's!

These make great gifts! On these particular CD's, I have purposely included many songs about Plain Dealing. I have limited quantities. If you want one or more, contact me by email or phone. (Contact info is on the Home Page or see below.) CD's are just $10 each.

Profits from CD sales go to my recording fund! It's very expensive to record, so, thanks to all who buy my CD's. I can't make it without you! You can bet I'll remember you when George Strait cuts one of my songs! (Let's hope!) Tell your friends how to contact me and I'll mail them a CD anywhere! (Add $5 for shipping and packaging for one, add $1/ea for each additional.)

I have a few song clips you can listen to. Most of these songs are on my CD's.

On these particular CD's, the style is mostly country, maybe a couple that are a bit folkish and a couple that are like acoustic blues. I have some other songs that are more in a rock style but those have yet to be recorded.

NOTE: Whenever I write a song about a real life person, I always tell them about it and get "approval" to sing as written. I don't have to but I do.

CD #1 ($10):
01 All The Farms Are Gone
About driving around the town of Plain Dealing, reminiscing.

02 Pittman Road
Highway 537 makes a loop from Hwy. 2 through the "river bottoms" to Hwy. 3. Another song about the demise of family farms.

03 Paging Mr. Page
I took a tour of the old Shreveport Municipal, led by Frank Page, former KWKH disc jockey and Louisiana Hayride emcee.

04 Two Men Loving One So Fine
This isn't about anyone, I made it up.

05 Hambone
This is about Coach Hamp Crawford, who coached my dad and was a golfing buddy to me many years later.

06 Where In The Hell Is Plain Dealing
A silly song about the dreaded question Plaindealingites must suffer from time to time. A light-hearted answer.

07 John Knew
Every guy has occasionally had his hair cut too short by a barber. In this song, Edna Clark, Plain Dealing, is the guilty party. She does a great job, by the way, and has a great price. I wrote this like a tribute because I like her.

08 Timmy's Trees
These characters are fictional. I just had this idea to wrap up some philosophy into a guy who likes trees. I like the story and the bluegrass arrangement.

09 Daddy Liked The Cowboy Way
About my dad, Milton Pittman, the cattleman (and farmer).

10 Howard And Jack
This song is about two Shreveport oilmen, who shall remain nameless until further notice.

11 Here's To The Road
About no one, just someone a bit lost... for whatever reason. This came from a particular feeling I have had many times, missing my extended family. You grow up with relatives, cousins and then over the years, we all scatter like quail. And friends, too.

12 Plain Dealing Blues
I get such a kick out of this song. It starts with a verse about the fire that consumed a big part of downtown Plain Dealing and the last two verses showcase Annie Lou Giles. She's so funny to me.

CD #2 ($10) (mostly acoustic recordings -- guitar/vocal):

01 Tony Joe White
This artist had a smash hit in 1969, "Polk Salad Annie." He also wrote "Rainy Night In Georgia," made famous by Brook Benton. And other hits. For twenty years, I was a bit confused about who he is.

02 Don't Learn A Way To Hell
I have an entire album written and ready to be recorded about a character who is seeking truth his entire life. This is early in his life.

03 Benefit For The Broken-Hearted
Could be about any kind of loss. Loss of whatever... a melancholy tear-jerker.

04 A Happy Little Farm
An easy-going little ditty about wishing to have a farm for a loved one.

05 Hershel
One time I heard someone griping about Hershel Malone. "He never even finished high school and now, he's loaded." So, I mused, "Why be jealous? Why not pat him on the back?" So, I wrote a song to do that. In the song, I act like I'm jealous but that's just poetic license to make it a better song.

06 The Load
My dad was a P.O.W. in Germany. One day I found his P.O.W. dogtags and also a picture I had never seen before. It took my breath away. I'd always wanted to write a song about his war experience and I am pleased with this.

07 Reflections Of His Fear
My dad was a farmer and dryland farming (non-irrigated) is a tough business. Very proud of this story, spurred from a memory of a real life event.

08 River Rat
One day I saw a guy fishing on a riverbank and mused that he had it made.

09 Huckleberry Kid
Gib Allen was a classmate, a real funny guy and he died much too young. A tribute to Gib, who had a big heart and I know he would like these songs.

10 I Wish
I had an idea to write some heavy-duty philosophy into a song from the perspective of several generations.

11 I've Got The Tee-Shirt
A silly country song about divorce. Gotta have some of those, too.

12 Jerry Lynn
Another misunderstood friend. He's wired! I think he's hilarious. And a real good fellow. Some folks just don't understand that some people are super-charged. Another tribute song.

You can mail me $10 plus $5 shipping/handling for each CD (just $1/ea for each additional) and I will mail to you.
